Maria started as our office manager in July of 2016 and has been a great addition to our team! She attended Fisher College in Boston, MA in 2009 pursuing studies in Psychology and to play soccer. She enjoys interacting with patients and their families to ensure the best care and experience possible. It is most important to her to make connections and be familiar with our patients and their specific treatment plans and goals. She has prior experience dealing with insurance companies and is always available to discuss your chiropractic benefits. She is the glue that binds our office together and connects patients, therapists and providers. She has a great sense of humor and can often be found having a good laugh at her desk with one of our many lovely patients.
Maria currently resides in Hinesburg, VT with her boyfriend and hungry black lab. In her spare time she enjoys to be outside and play soccer, ski, hike, waterski, run, or lay on the beach with a good book. She also has a passion for cooking and baking new recipes for her family and friends.
Dr. Vanessa Cole, D.C. was born in Newfoundland, Canada. She grew up in a military family which allowed her to travel and live in many provinces throughout Canada.
Growing up, Vanessa was very involved in competitive Volleyball and Basketball. Following high school she attended Acadia University in Wolfville, Nova Scotia. There she majored in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. While attending University she played for the Women’s Varsity Basketball team until a lower back injury sidelined her. This injury is what introduced Dr. Cole to chiropractic care. Following a year of low back steroid injections, medication and countless X-rays/MRI’s she finally found her way to the town Chiropractor and after one visit was forever changed.
In 2006 Vanessa began studying at New York Chiropractic College. She graduated magna cum laude in November 2009 and moved to Baltimore MD to begin practicing.
While in Baltimore Dr. Cole has worked in both traditional chiropractic as well as medical pain management offices. These experiences have further pushed her to provide the best natural chiropractic care possible so her patients can enjoy a life free of pain medication, surgery and costly doctor/hospital visits.
Dr. Cole spends most of her free time chasing her almost 3 year old daughter Callie and 10 month old son Oliver around while squeezing in some time for volleyball, reading and enjoying anything that involves water and being outdoors.
Bryan Thomas has had a passion for massage since a young age. Fortunately, he was able to evolve from giving shoulder rubs to family members as a kid to receiving his certification from the Denver School of Massage Therapy in 2010. While in school, Bryan studied various modalities ranging from Deep Tissue to Cranial Sacral to Myofascial massage.
Bryan has a continued his education in Myofascial massage by studying with both Thomas Myers and John Barnes, both of whom have developed their own methods of myofascial massage.
Bryan brings an open mind and sunny disposition to every session. His expertise in anatomy and post-injury massage will enhance the services offered at Chittenden County Chiropractic.
I started my career as a massage therapist in 2006 after graduating from Kiné-Concept Institute, in Montreal. Swedish massage, deep tissue, trigger point therapy, prenatal massage and foot reflexology, are some of my professional certifications in this field. I am also a certified yoga instructor, and go back to school regularly to deepen my knowledge of the body and to learn new techniques that keep my practice alive.
I was hooked on massage therapy the first time I laid down on a table. It makes a world of difference in keeping my body functioning at its best, and minimizes the risk of injury. I truly believe that a good massage can uplift your mood and ease stress. As my client, rest assured that your goals for seeking out a professional massage therapist will be acknowledged and catered to in a safe and comfortable environment. Don’t let stress, muscular tension, or chronic pain affect your quality of life, I am here to help you feel your best.
